It is about impressionism which is an art movement during the 1800s. Mary wants to see works from her favorite artists including Claude Monet and Pierre Renoir. She likes how the impressionist painters painted art that looked like it could be a photo. She likes the use of color in it. Mary and her friends walk into the museum. They see an exhibit near the front of the museum. There is a long red rope placed around the exhibit. Mary knows that they are supposed to stay behind the ropes. As Mary and her friends quickly walk up to the sculptures, Mary trips on a rug and falls into the ropes. The metal stands with the ropes on them clang together. Several people turn around and stare at her. Mary’s face is red. She stands up and sets the ropes back up. Mary’s teacher gives her a harsh look. After the accident, the girls looks at the sculptures. These sculptures are from hundreds of years ago. They came from Egypt. After reading about the sculptures, Mary learns that Egyptian sculptures were made to represent life after death. She sees that one of the sculptures is made out of wood. It seems that only a few wooden sculptures from Egypt still exist today. The girls continue to look through the art museum for another few hours. Everyone loves the field trip.
