The teacher gives you a task. What does that mean?

Even if a student writes well, he or she will need to make sure it follows some criteria pertaining to the assignment. In other words, the writing piece should match the task, purpose and audience. If a piece of writing does not do this, it may make the assignment sound strange. Therefore, the student should keep the task, purpose and audience in mind when writing.
