What Are T Levels?

T Levels are new sixth-form qualifications introduced in 2020, designed as a vocational alternative to A Levels. They combine 80% classroom learning with 20% practical experience through a 45-day industry placement in a real business.

Equivalent to: 3 A Levels
Duration: 2 years
Goal: Prepare students for university, higher education, apprenticeships, or jobs

What Can Students Do After T Levels?

University – Some universities accept T Levels (check individual requirements).
Higher Education – Alternative courses or vocational training.
Apprenticeships – Especially higher or degree apprenticeships.
Jobs – Directly enter a related industry or start a career from their placement.

Typical Entry Requirements: 5 GCSEs (Grades 9-4), including English & Maths.
Don’t meet the requirements? Take the T Level Transition Programme (1-year course) to prepare for a T Level.
