Visa regulations allow employers in certain industries to hire foreign nationals for seasonal positions. These employers must first try to hire U.S. workers for these positions. Eligible industries include landscaping, seasonal hospitality and seasonal construction, and certain jobs in manufacturing, food packaging and processing, fisheries, and retail. Agriculture is not an eligible industry. Workers must return to their home countries at the end of the season. The program benefits both employers who need workers and foreigners who need the income.
