The CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) certification is a popular security certification. There are several popular vendor-specific certifications in the IT industry, but CASP is a unique, vendor-neutral certification. This certification is a stepping-stone to other specialized, vendor-specific certifications.

CASP exam topics are generic and apply to several varied security technologies, irrespective of the vendors. For specific vendor products, training regarding that vendor hardware, device, or software can be found in training specific to that vendor.
