Division Of Decimals

Note the following:

(1) To divide a decimal number by an integer, put decimal point just after dividing the unit's digit.

e.g., = 11.8

(2) To divide one decimal by another
(i) Find difference between the number of decimal in numerator and the denominator
(ii) Simply divide as if decimals were not existing
(iii) Put decimal symbol before as many as digits as was the answer in (i) (3) To divide a decimal by 10, 100, 1000...shift the point 1, 2, 3...places to the left.
