Neil and Sergei are standing next to each other. Neil is facing NE and Sergei is facing SE. If Neil turns anticlockwise through 225o, what angle must Sergei turn through to face in the same direction as Neil?

There are 90o (a quarter turn) between the cardinal compass points of North, East, South and West. But there are 45o (an eighth of a turn) between the cardinal points and the intercardinal ones of NE, SE, SW and NW.

NE falls between North and East; SE falls between South and East; SW falls between South and West; and NW falls between North and West.
