Properties: Natural rubber is flexible and has high tensile strength. It's also resistant to fatigue from wear and has a low odor. Synthetic rubber is resistant to abrasion, chemicals, fluids, ozone, electrical heat, and aging.
Uses: Natural rubber is used in many products, including medical devices, surgical gloves, aircraft and car tires, pacifiers, clothes, and toys. Synthetic rubber is used in party balloons and wetsuits.
Resistance: Synthetic rubber is generally better than natural rubber in terms of temperature resistance, aging resistance, and resistance to abrasion. 

The first synthetic rubber was developed in 1909 by Fritz Hofmann and his team at Bayer labs in Elberfeld, Germany.
