Data acquisition (DAQ) is a process that involves collecting, storing, visualizing, and processing raw data from the physical world. A DAQ system consists of hardware, software, and a computer. 

DAQ systems are used in many industries, including research, development, production, quality control, and testing. They can measure a wide range of physical and electrical parameters, such as temperature, pressure, and voltage. 

A basic DAQ system has four parts:
DAQ hardware: Connects the computer and sensors, and converts analog signals from the sensors to digital signals that the computer can read.
Computer: Gathers all the data coming through the DAQ hardware for further analysis.
Sensors: Interact with the subject being measured and produce electrical signals.
Signal conditioning hardware: Modifies and converts the signals into digital signals.
