Electrical circuits are closed paths for currents to flow and they are usually made of components joined by wires. Electricity travels at the speed of light, more than 186,000 miles per second. Insulators and conductors are words used in relation to electrical circuits. Voltage and wattage are also important terms related to electrical circuits.  A bolt of lightning can measure up to three million volts and lasts less than one second! The irrational fear of lightning (and thunder) is known as astraphobia. There are some 16 million lightning storms in the world every year.
