Dynamics is the study of the causes of motion, or changes in motion. It's a branch of physical science that examines the motion of material objects in relation to the physical factors that affect them, such as force, mass, momentum, and energy. Dynamics is based on Newton's laws of motion, and the relation between kinematics and the cause of change of kinematics is called the equation of motion.

Kinematics is the study of how objects move, including their velocity and acceleration. In the late 1600s, Isaac Newton hypothesized that motion does not require a cause, rather changes in motion require causes.
