An ACE certified personal trainer is a fitness trainer who has been certified through ACE, the American Council of Exercise. The ACE certificate is worth it if you want a mainstream, NCCA-accredited certification with an easier exam on a lower budget than NASM or ISSA.

The Syllabus for the ACE Personal Trainer exam covers these topics: Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Bio mechanics, Nutrition, Health Screening, Aerobic Program Design and Implementation, Anaerobic Program Design and Implementation, Special Population, Postural assessment, Programming for Stability, Mobility and Movement, Flexibility, and Injury Prevention.

All four ACE Certification Exams consist of 150 multiple-choice questions. 125 of the 150 questions are scored while the other 25 are experimental questions are not scored and thus do not count towards your overall exam score. Candidates are given three hours to complete their ACE Exam.
