The overall aircraft design process has four stages:
Pre conceptual design stage
Preliminary sizing
Conceptual design and analysis stage
Applied airworthiness stage

Aircraft design is a branch of engineering design. It's primarily an analytical process that often involves drawing and drafting.

Aircraft Designers must consider many elements, including:  Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Performance, Structural systems, Control systems, Shape of the aircraft's fuselage, Wing location, Engine size.

Here are some other steps in the aircraft design process:
Preliminary design:
Estimates the engine power/thrust and wing loadings
Conceptual design: Prepares a rough design based on certain requirements
Computer-aided design (CAD): Creates drawings, prepares reports of assembly and part drawings, and prepares bill of materials
