A cargo aircraft is a fixed-wing aircraft that is designed to carry cargo, rather than passengers.

Cargo aircraft are also called freight aircraft, freighters, airlifters, or cargo jets.

Cargo aircraft are different from passenger aircraft because they have large doors for loading and unloading bulky items or containers. They typically have a large, open interior with reinforced floors and systems to secure cargo in place.
