Aircraft maintenance is the process of ensuring an aircraft is safe and reliable for flight. It involves regular inspections, repairs, and replacements of an aircraft's components, systems, and structures.

Overhaul, Inspection, Replacement, Defect rectification, Modifications, Compliance with airworthiness directives, Repair, Testing. 
Aircraft maintenance is a highly-regulated field that requires a robust regimen of scheduled or preventive servicing. Certified Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) technicians perform these activities on every aircraft in service. 
To qualify for either the A or the P rating or both (the A&P rating), mechanics must be at least 18 years of age, be fluent in English, and have 30 months of experience.
