HCF stands for highest common factor and LCM stands for least common multiple.

HCF: The highest common factor is the largest factor shared by two or more numbers.
For example, the HCF of 8 and 12 is 4.

LCM: The least common multiple is the smallest number that can be divided by two or more numbers.
For example, the LCM of 10, 15, and 20 is 60.

You can calculate the HCF and LCM of two or more numbers by:
- Listing factors or multiples
- Using prime factors

- Finding the prime factors of the numbers, finding the product of the prime factors that are common to each number, and then finding the HCF by finding the largest integer that can be divided by the numbers

The HCF of two numbers is always a factor of their LCM.
