Cavity walls and partition walls are both types of walls:

Cavity walls: Two separate walls with a gap in between. The two layers, or "skins," are usually made of brick or concrete block, and connected by metal ties that span the gap between them. Cavity walls are made with a space between two "skins" to inhibit heat.
Partition walls: Built to divide space within a building. Partition walls are designed as non-load bearing walls. Partition walls constructed from fiber cement backer board are popular.
