Ferrous metals are known for their durability and tensile strength. They are often used in construction, including buildings, bridges, and trains.

Here are some examples of ferrous metals:

Carbon steel
Has a higher carbon content than other types of steel, making it very hard.

Alloy steel
Has greater strength and durability than carbon steel, and can achieve a given strength with less material weight.

Gray iron
Consists of graphite flakes in a metallic matrix. It's one of the most commonly used ferrous alloys because of its low cost of production and attractive properties.

White iron
A ferrous alloy that typically contains 11-30% chromium and 1.8-3.6% carbon.

Other examples of ferrous metals include: Steel, Iron.
