Scaffolding, shoring, and underpinning are all used in building construction to support and strengthen the structure:

Scaffolding: A temporary structure used to support construction workers, materials, and inspectors who need to work at height. Scaffolding is typically made from metal poles and wood planks. There are many types of scaffolding, including single, double, suspended, steel, trestle, and patented.
Shoring: The process of temporarily supporting a building, structure, or trench with shores (props). Shoring can be vertical, angled, or horizontal.

Professionals use shoring to:
Fix unstable walls
Demolish structures
Change existing walls
Construct new walls
Repair cracked or broken walls or foundations

Underpinning: Refers to reinforcing the foundation of a structure by extending the existing foundation to distribute weight load across a greater area evenly. Underpinning is performed in stages so as not to compromise the entirety of the structure's integrity at once.

Scaffolding, Shoring and Underpinning topics include: Scaffolding components, shoring and its types, underpinning and its types.
