Sand Reclamation & Control Test topics include: Tem tech thermal sand and testing the core sands.

The basic tests measure the following parameters: wet tensile strength, cone jolt, mouldability, friability, moisture content, permeability, green compression strength, compactibility, loss on ignition, volatiles content, grain size & distribution, dust (dead clay) content, and active clay content, impact strength .

Sand reclamation is the process of reconditioning foundry sand without affecting its physical properties. It involves removing binders and coatings that adhere to sand grains during casting production so that the sand can be recycled for reuse.

Sand reclamation can:
Reduce costs
Lower disposal and transportation costs
Reduce environmental impacts
Enhance casting quality

Here's an example of a thermal sand reclamation process:
Feed sand into the rotary retort at a constant rate using a sealed screw feeder
Heat the waste sand to 1,200 to 1,500°F inside the rotary retort
Evaporate moisture and oxidize organic binders using gas-fired burners
