The nucleus contains the genetic material of the organism and regulates the process. 
The electron transport chain is the final stage of aerobic respiration and takes place in the mitochondria. During this stage, the NADH and FADH2 produced in glycolysis and the Krebs cycle donate their electrons to a series of protein complexes. 
The final stage of aerobic respiration is oxidative phosphorylation. This involves taking the electrons released from the Krebs cycle and using them to synthesize ATP.

Aerobic respiration occurs in the cytoplasm and mitochondria of eukaryotic cells. 
 

The four stages of aerobic respiration are:
Glycolysis
A transition reaction
The citric acid (Krebs) cycle
An electron transport chain and chemiosmosis
