Some basics of computer networks to know:
Metropolitan Area Network (MAN):
A network that connects computers within a metropolitan area. MANs are usually more prominent than Local Area Networks (LANs).
Personal Area Network (PAN): A network that connects a single individual's devices, such as a mobile device, a computer, or a personal digital assistant. PANs can link these devices to the internet and a digital network.
Network topologies: A network's basic design, which is similar to a road map that shows how key network components, like nodes and links, are connected.
Storage Area Network (SAN): A network where users or computers can share a common data storage. SANs usually have their own network of storage devices that are not usually accessible by other devices through the LAN.
IP addressing: A fundamental concept in networking that provides a unique identifier for devices on a network, allowing them to communicate with each other.
OSI model: A 7-layer architecture developed by ISO (International Organization of Standardization). Each layer has a specific functionality to perform.
Cloud network: A network that exists within or is part of a cloud computing infrastructure. Cloud networks provide network interconnectivity between cloud-based or cloud-enabled application, services, and solutions.
