Polymers topics include: Characterisation, polymer blends, dendrimers, thermoplastic polymers, elastomers, fibers, organic conducting and biodegradable polymers.

Polymers are substances made up of large molecules called macromolecules. These macromolecules are made up of simpler chemical units called monomers

Polymers can be natural or synthetic. Natural polymers include hemp, shellac, amber, wool, silk, and natural rubber. Synthetic polymers are made in laboratories and are usually made from petroleum-derived ingredients. Examples of synthetic polymers include nylon, polyethylene, polyester, Teflon, and epoxy.
Polymers are the basis of many minerals and man-made materials, and make up many materials in living organisms. Synthetic polymers are versatile materials that can be processed into biomedical foams with a wide range of properties.

Here are some types of polymers:
Condensing polymers:
Formed by the combination of two monomer molecules and the elimination of a small molecule.
Addition polymers: Involve the reaction of unsaturated monomers.
Copolymerization: The polymerization of more than one species of monomers into copolymers.
