Natural rocks and minerals, known as building stones, are used in construction for both structural and decorative purposes.
Here are some examples of rocks used in construction:
Granite: A hard igneous rock that is made up of visible crystals of various minerals. It is often used for building facades, kitchen worktops, and gravestones. Basalt: A hard and tough igneous rock that is also known as white, green, or blue basalt. It has a high compressive strength of between 150-190 MPa. Marble: A metamorphic stone that is created when limestone is subjected to high temperatures and pressure. It is naturally rigid and compact, with a compressive strength of about 70 MPa. Sandstone: A sedimentary rock that is made up of sand-sized grains of mineral, rock, or organic material. It is often used for building facades, walls, and paving.
