Fluid pressure is the force per unit area that acts on an object in a fluid or on a closed container's surface. It is exerted perpendicular to any surface it encounters and is equally distributed in all directions within the fluid.

According to Pascal's law, a fluid at rest will generate equal pressure in all directions. The magnitude of this pressure depends on the fluid's specific weight or mass density and the depth of the point of measurement from the surface of the fluid.

Fluid pressure is influenced by two things:
Fluid's depth:
The pressure that the fluid exerts grows as the depth does as well.
Fluid's density: Denser fluids like water impose higher pressure compared to lighter fluids like air.

Fluid mechanics is a branch of physics that studies the behavior of fluids, such as liquids and gases, when they are in motion or at rest.
