Pea plants produce two types of seeds: round seeds or wrinkled seeds. A gardener cross-breeds two pea plants and draws a Punnett square (shown in the figure below) where (R) represents the dominant allele for round seeds and (r) represents the allele for wrinkly seeds. The outside of the square displays the genes of the parents, whereas the inside of the square shows the genes of the potential offspring.
