There is a connection among the series of events in a text. Texts that contain historical events, scientific ideas or steps usually have connections. Students should be able to describe these connections. The student will need to look at the key details and see what they have in common with each other.

Read the text below. Answer questions about the key details and identify the connections among them:

Snow is not white. It is clear. It just looks white from the sun. The sun shines on the snow and makes it look white. Snow usually falls in the winter time. A snowflake is made of ice. It comes together in the air. Small pieces of dirt bring the ice together.

Water mist is in the air. It then gets cold. The water mist freezes. It then forms ice crystals. The water in the clouds gets very cold. It makes ice and not water. The snowflakes are formed.

Snow can be unsafe. Snow lands on the roads. Cars drive on these roads. The snow freezes on the road and makes the roads slick. Cars could slide off the road. Salt or sand can be put down on these roads. The salt makes the snow melt faster.
