Clarification may be needed when a teacher is speaking. The students may need to ask questions in order to clarify the information. However, they may need to answer questions in order to prove they understood what was being said. Clarification also results in gathering additional information.

Listen to your teacher speaking about a topic and ask or answer questions about the topic:

People need many different things so they will live. If they do not have these things, they may die. One thing people need is water. Water is probably the most important thing. Usually most people can only live one week without water. However, it depends on the person. Some people may live over week. These people may be healthy. Other people may be less healthy. They may need water in a few days.

Your body loses some water. When you sweat, you lose water through your skin. When you throw up, you also lose water. However, you really do not lose a lot of water in those ways. Once you lose 1% of the water in your body, you will feel it. You will crave water. If you lost 10% of the water in your body, you will die.

Food is different. You can live about 30 days without food. You may not feel very well without the food, but you can live. You will lose weight and there will be problems with your body.
