Reference materials help students with words. Reference materials include dictionaries, glossaries and thesauruses. Students can look words up on a computer or in a printed book. Not only are these sources used to find the definitions of words, they also help with pronunciation. 

Courteous (kurt-e-us) - to be respectful and nice
Exert (ex-urt) - to put forth effort
Hazy (haz-e) - foggy or not clear
Luxurious (lug-zur-e-us) - something that is above average and is considered to be very comfortable
Miniature (men-a-chur) - very small

Herbivores – animals that eat only plants
Humidity – measures the quantity of water vapor in the air

Seldom – rarely
