If we lived on an island we would be surrounded by sea. How could we go abroad? We could fly to get to other countries. Or we could take a ferry. A ferry is a boat that carries cars, trucks and people. Big ships bring, or import, food, oil and lots of goods, like computers, to us from other countries. We send, or export, goods we have made to other countries in ships. What else can we find out about how ships and boats are used?
