A simile is when you compare two things to each other.  This is generally done by the use of the words: “is like”, “is as”, “are like”, “are as” or “than”.  
Antonyms are two words that mean the opposite or nearly the opposite thing.  
Words that imitate sounds or ideas are known as onomatopoeia. 
Homonyms are words that are spelled the same but in their given context have different meanings.
