Combustion and Combustion Chambers topics include: Combustion, abnormal combustion, combustion in SI and CI engine, knocking in SI engine and delay period.

A combustion chamber is a space within an engine where fuel is mixed with oxygen and ignited. The energy released from the combustion is captured and harnessed.

The combustion chamber is also known as a burner or combustor. The resulting high-temperature exhaust gas is used to turn the power turbine, which produces mechanical work to move the compressor.

The combustion chamber can be divided into five major components:
The injector assembly
The grain compartment
The aft mixing chamber
The nozzle
The thrust vector control

There are three main types of combustion chamber used for gas turbine engines:
The multiple chamber
The tubo-annular chamber
The annular chamber
