Ignition topics include: Requirements and battery of ignition systems, magneto ignition systems, ignition timing and energy parameters and spark mechanism.

The ignition system is a key component of a vehicle that helps start the engine. It creates a spark that ignites the fuel in the engine, which starts the combustion process.

Here are some basics of the ignition system:

Ignition coil: Changes the low battery voltage into the power needed to reach the spark plug, reach the fuel, and start the engine
Distributor ignition: Takes high voltage and divides it up, sending out impulses to your spark plugs and firing up your engine
Spark plug: Screws into the top of an engine's cylinders where they receive a high voltage electrical current from the ignition coil
Electronic ignition system: Ignites the fuel in the engine, which in turn powers the vehicle
Magneto ignition system: A special type of ignition system with its own electric generator to provide the required energy for the vehicle system
