Soya: 900 liters per kilogram
Sorghum: 450–650 mm
Maize: 500–800 mm
Groundnut: 500–700 mm
Wheat: 450–650 mm
Tobacco: 400–600 mm
Tomato: 600–800 mm 

Crops with medium water requirements include sorghum, maize, wheat, and cotton. Crops with high water requirements include rice, sugarcane, and bananas. Crops with low water requirements include millets, grain legumes, and oil seed crops.
