Computer Aided Analysis and Synthesis of Mechanisms topics include: Computer aided analysis and programs for four bar mechanism, synthesis problem classifications, function generation and least square technique programs, slider crank mechanism synthesis.

Computer aided engineering (CAE) involves the use of computer software to improve product design and resolve engineering problems for a wide range of industries.
The benefits of CAE include reduced product development cost and time, with improved product quality and durability. Design decisions can be made based on their impact on performance. Designs can be evaluated and refined using computer simulations rather than physical prototype testing, saving money and time.

Mechanism synthesis, also known as kinematic synthesis, is the process of determining the size and configuration of mechanisms that shape the flow of power through a mechanical system.

In mechanical engineering, mechanism synthesis is the conversion of a motion idea into hardware. It involves designing a mechanism that corresponds to a prescribed movement or trajectories, of speeds and elements. The synthesis of mechanism is the design or creation of a mechanism to produce a desired output motion for a given input motion.
The first step in the realization of devices to provide required movement and transmission of forces is kinematic synthesis of mechanisms. Once this is defined, then material selection, stress analysis and dynamic analysis are used to shape the components to ensure performance and reliability.
