Here's some more information about these types of drives:
Belt drives:
Use pulleys and a flexible belt to transmit power. Belts are made from leather, cotton, rubber, and synthetic materials. Belt drives are preferred for medium to large center distances. They have a lower noise level and require minimum maintenance.
Rope drives: Use a rope to transmit power from one system to another. Rope drives are a form of belt drive.
Chain drives: Use a chain to transmit power. Chain drives are often used in equipment like industrial machinery, heavy machinery, and motorbikes where high power transmission is necessary. Chain drives have a higher noise level and require regular maintenance.
