An autonomous mobile system, or autonomous mobile robot (AMR), is a computer-controlled machine that can navigate its environment without human oversight. AMRs use sensors and technology to see where they are and move around. They can use machine learning and artificial intelligence to plan an alternative route and avoid obstacles. 

AMRs are used in many applications, including:
Distribution centers
Cleaning and disinfection
Autonomous security robots (ASRs)
Hospitals and healthcare
Hospitality
Grocery stores
Last mile delivery 

AMRs are equipped with advanced sensors, AI software, and a digital layout of the installation, which allows them to interpret their surroundings. They can perform repetitive tasks or organizational functions using an internal guidance system. 

Some examples of AMRs include:
Pick-and-place AMRs:
Used in warehouses, these AMRs use machine vision technology to identify, grab, and move objects from one location to another.
Medicine or supplies transport AMRs: Used in hospitals, these AMRs transport medicine or supplies.
