Fast review mode: answers are shown by default so you can skim quickly. Hide them if you want to self-test.

Organic Compounds topics include: Preparation and reactions of alcohols, phenols, ethers, oxiranes, glycols, glycerol, aldehydes, ketones, benzaldehyde. aldehydes, tautomerism, physical and chemical properties of carboxylic acids, aldehydes, ketones, acid chlorides and anhydrides, amides, esters, saponification, claisen and cross claisen condensation.

Here are some organic compounds that contain oxygen:
Organic peroxides:
Contain two oxygen atoms that are joined together. They are used as bleaching agents and to start a process called polymerization that creates plastic polymers. However, they are thermally unstable and can harm people, property, and the environment.
Ethers: Contain an oxygen atom bonded to two alkyl or aryl groups. The general formula for ethers is R-O-R', where R and R' represent the alkyl or aryl groups.
Carboxylic acids: Contain a carbon atom that is doubly bonded to an oxygen atom and singly bonded to a hydroxyl group.
Alcohols: Contain the -OH functional group. They contain oxygen, carbon, and hydrogen, and are not hydrocarbon compounds.
Phenols: Based on the elements carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. They are simple carbon rings called aromatics because many of the compounds they form have strong odors.

Other organic compounds that contain oxygen include: Aldehydes and ketones, Carboxylic esters

Some examples of molecules that contain three oxygen atoms include: Ozone, Sulfur trioxide (SO3), P2O3, an oxide of phosphorous
