Alterations in digestive function can include changes in the stomach, such as impaired accommodation, delayed gastric emptying, and hypersensitivity. Alterations in the duodenum can include increased sensitivity to duodenal acid and/or lipids and low-grade inflammation. 

Some common digestive disorders include: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Cancer, Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Lactose intolerance, and Hiatal hernia. 
Some common symptoms of digestive disorders include: bleeding, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, pain, nausea, and vomiting.
