Sentence transformation  involves changing the form, structure, or type of a sentence while maintaining its original meaning.

For example, an interrogative sentence can be transformed into an assertive one without changing its meaning.

Here are some examples of sentence transformations:
Simple to complex:
Expand a word or phrase into a clause.
Complex to simple: Eliminate a clause into a word or phrase.
Assertive to exclamatory: Add subject + should. For example, "Do the work" becomes "You should do the work".

Sentence transformations often test direct and indirect speech, comparative and superlative forms, active and passive forms, quantifiers, conditionals, and verbs.
