Speaking and listening are by far the most common methods of communication. By listening to others you can learn lots of important information, like finding out how people are feeling or catching up with your friends. To be good listeners we need to show we are nterested in what people say and not be rude by interrupting them. 

Part of being a good friend is letting other people talk rather than doing all the talking. As well as listening carefully to what we are being told we must also make sure that we understand the information we heard and know what we are required to do with it.
