Biomass gasification is a process that converts solid biomass into a combustible gas called producer gas. It's a thermochemical conversion process that involves the partial oxidation of biomass at high temperatures. The process uses heat, steam, and oxygen to convert biomass to hydrogen and other products without combustion. 

Biomass gasification is a simple, reliable, and low-cost process that can produce biofuel, hydrogen, syngas, and electricity. It's a mature technology pathway that concentrates on decentralized compact systems and processes for generating electrical and thermal energy from dried wood chips. 
The main goal of biomass gasification is to maximize the production of gas products and achieve a high H2 yield. The producer gas is a low-heating value fuel with a calorific value ranging from 1000 to 1200 kcal/Nm3. 
Biomass gasification power generation technology has smaller investment than other renewable energy power generation technologies.
