Hydrogen energy is a secondary energy source that can be produced in a variety of ways. It can be used to store, move, and deliver energy produced from other sources.

Hydrogen is a powerful, transportable energy carrier that can produce electricity, power industry, and enable transportation. Unlike fossil fuels, when hydrogen is burned, it generates only water as a byproduct, meaning no harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
Hydrogen can be produced from a variety of sources including water, fossil fuels, or biomass. The most common methods today are natural gas reforming (a thermal process), and electrolysis.
Hydrogen fuel cells are capable of generating electricity of up to 65 percent efficiency. It is renewable, meaning that with hydrogen, you get a fuel source that is limited. Basically, hydrogen energy can be produced on demand.

Note: Hydrogen costs $13 to $16 per kilogram.
