A solar furnace is a structure that uses concentrated solar power to create high temperatures. It consists of a collection of curved mirrors or mirrored surfaces that capture the sun's rays and reflect them to a single point where the energy is focused. 
Solar furnaces can also provide free heat to homes. They solely use the sun's energy, which means there are no harmful waste products such as smoke that can also be detrimental to your health. 

Solar furnaces can reach temperatures up to 3000°C. 
The process involves pumping molten salt into the furnace to raise its temperature. The hot molten salt is then delivered to a storage tank and passes through a steam generator where it heats water until it turns to steam. 
The steam enters a steam turbine and causes it to rotate as it passes through the blades. The steam turbine is connected to an alternator via a gearbox and the generator generates electricity.
