Six Sigma is a methodology for improving quality and reducing variation in business processes.

It relies on five fundamental principles:
Customer focus
Data-driven analysis
Proactive improvement
Cross-functional collaboration
Thoroughness and flexibility 

Here are some other principles of Six Sigma:
Variation:
The basis of Six Sigma, variation defines how much changes are happening in an output of a process.
Process capability: A key concept in Six Sigma, process capability measures how well a process can meet the specifications or requirements of a product or service.
Statistical process control: A part of Six Sigma, statistical process control monitors, controls, and optimizes processes to improve them on a regular basis.
Control phase: An important phase for Six Sigma methodology, the control phase evaluates the gains that are made in the improve phase to ensure that the process works well, produces desired outputs, and maintains quality level.
