4G is the fourth generation of mobile phone technology, following 2G and 3G. It's the broadband cellular network technology that came after 3G and before 5G. 4G was first released to the public in 2009. 

4G makes it easier to access the internet on mobile devices, including tablets and laptops. It offers faster data rates, lower latency, and more efficient use of the radio frequency spectrum. 
4G LTE is a type of 4G that provides the fastest mobile internet experience.
