A network protocol is a set of rules that govern how data is transmitted between devices on a network. It allows devices to communicate with each other, regardless of their design, structure, or internal processes.
Security protocols are network protocols that use security measures like cryptography and encryption to protect data. Examples of security protocols include SFTP, SSL, and HTTPS.

Here are some examples of network protocols:

File Transfer Protocol (FTP): A client-server protocol that allows a client to request a file from a server. FTP runs over TCP/IP and requires a command channel and a data channel.
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP): A TCP/IP protocol used to send and receive email. SMTP is commonly used by email clients like Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, and Yahoo Mail.
User Datagram Protocol (UDP): A communications protocol for time-sensitive applications like gaming, playing videos, or Domain Name System (DNS) lookups. UDP results in faster communication because it doesn't spend time forming a connection with the destination before transferring data.
