That’s division: splitting a total into equal groups so everyone gets the same amount.

But what if there were 13 cupcakes? You’d give everyone 3, and there’d be 1 left over—that’s the remainder, the part that doesn’t fit into equal groups. Division isn’t just about sharing; it’s about figuring out how many fit perfectly and what to do with the extras.

Mistake 2: Miscounting Groups
