She can quickly clean her room or she can beg her mom to let her clean it later. She decides to talk to her mom. “Please, please! Let me clean my room later,” Judy begs. Her mom shakes her head and says no. Judy spends another fifteen minutes begging her mom. However, her mom does not change her mind. Judy runs upstairs. She spends the next two hours cleaning her room. Now, she will be 45 minutes late for lunch. She calls her friends and tells them she will be late. Her legs are moving very fast. Judy finally makes it to the mall. It is now 12:35. Judy walks into the mall. She sees her friends at a table. She sees that the table is covered with empty trays. Their food has already been eaten. “Sorry Judy. We already ate lunch,” Karen says. “That’s okay. I’m sorry I am late,” Judy says. “Order your food at the food stand. We will wait for you to eat,” Polly says. Judy does that. She orders a hamburger, fries and a drink. The food is made fast. Judy eats her lunch fast at the table. “I need a dress for the school dance. I only have a few dollars,” Karen says, “I can’t buy anything here. “Do you want to wear my blue dress? You really like that dress,” Judy offers. Karen smiles. “Yes!” Karen says. “Let’s go over to your house. I can try it on and see if it fits.” Judy smiles. She is glad she cleaned her room. Show less
