I definitely knew afterwards that I would never go to Nome, Alaska. It was weeks before a friend of mine told me it wasn’t real. Imagine that! It sure felt real to me.
7. Finding a quiet little corner in the attic by a small window, I sat down. With gentle care I opened the book in my hands. It was my great-grandmother’s personal journal. My hopes were that I would get to know all about her by the end of my reading.
